Puradak New Menu 'FabriPabullo' Honest Review (ft. Chef Fabri Collab, Price, Goobne Galbi Cheonwang?!)

Puradak New Menu 'FabriPabullo' Honest Review (ft. Chef Fabri Collab, Price, Goobne Galbi Cheonwang?!)

Folks! Folks! 🍗 Puradak has done it again!
In line with its 'luxury chicken' image, the 'Chef's Chicken' series collaborates with famous chefs! The third protagonist has finally been revealed.

This time, they've teamed up with Michelin-starred Italian chef, Fabrizio Ferrari (Fabri), who loves Korean cuisine, to launch a new menu inspired by 'Pabulgogi' (grilled marinated meat with green onions)! 🔥

Named 'FabriPabullo'! This chicken, with a name as unusual as its inspiration, I've tasted it myself to see what it's like! (Spoiler: Where's the green onion flavor...? 🤔 But it's delicious!)

Following 'Masfia's' 'Napoli Toowoomba' and 'Ilpum Kkanpung', it's the third installment of Puradak's 'Chef's Chicken' series!
This time, it's a collaboration with Italian chef, Fabri, who is familiar to us from various shows like 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' and 'Baek Jong-won's Class'! 🇮🇹🤝🇰🇷

Chef Fabri reinterpreted 'Pabulgogi' into chicken... I couldn't resist! 🤤
The hot new item, 'FabriPabullo', released on October 23rd! Will it live up to the name 'Chef's Chicken'?

(🚨 Warning! This is a limited-time menu, available only until November 30th!)

1. Price & Type (Bone? Boneless? Wing Combo?)

First, the most important price information!

I ordered the bone-in chicken! (Because Puradak's bone-in chicken is delicious too 😉)

2. Visual & Scent: "Where Did the Green Onions Go?" 🤔

Puradak's unique luxurious non-woven fabric bag and black box! (Always a delight to see ✨)
Even before opening the box, a sweet and savory bulgogi aroma wafted out.

But... when I opened the box,
"Huh? Where are the green onions...?" 😅

'Pabulgogi' from inspiration, I expected plenty of sliced green onions, like 'Padak' (chicken with green onions), but instead, there were thinly fried white parts of green onions as topping. (Kind of like shredded cheese in appearance?)

Honestly:

  • Green onion scent? Almost non-existent. (Probably lost its aroma after being fried?)
  • Green onion texture? It's crispy, but not as strong in presence as garlic flakes or onion flakes. (It also got a bit soggy during delivery...)

➡️ If you expected a strong green onion flavor, you might be disappointed. Conversely, if you dislike green onions, you might even be happy(?).

3. So, How's the Taste? "Oh? This is totally...!" 😲 (Honest Taste Review)

The most important part, the taste! The first thought that came to mind after one bite was...
"Oh? This is totally like Goobne Galbi Cheonwang (Grilled Rib King)!" ㅋㅋㅋ

  • Sauce: It's a sweet and savory soy-sauce-based sauce with a subtle smoky flavor. Exactly the delicious 'sweet and salty' bulgogi marinade taste! (Like slightly burnt pork ribs?)
  • Texture (bone-in standard): Puradak's unique 'oven-fried' method! (Baked in oven -> fried in oil)
    • Outside: Despite the sauce, it's quite crispy and retains a slightly chewy texture! (Not fully crispy X)
    • Inside: Juicy and moist itself! Even the tougher breast meat is tender. 👍
  • Rice cake pieces: There are chewy rice cake pieces intermittently throughout.
  • Combination: When dipped in the complimentary 'Gochu Mayonnaise Sauce', the sweet and salty taste combined with a hint of spiciness, it surprisingly pairs well!

[Goobne Galbi Cheonwang vs FabriPabullo?]
Personally, I found FabriPabullo less stimulating and more subtly sweet and salty than Galbi Cheonwang, so it suited my taste better! It's a flavor that everyone, young and old, would enjoy, with minimal likes or dislikes. (It would be perfect as a side dish for children's meals!)

4. Overall Review: "Delicious Except for the Green Onion Flavor! (But Not Revolutionary)" 😉

  • Pros: Delicious sweet and salty bulgogi sauce, crispy exterior and juicy interior texture, widely appealing taste, moist meat.
  • Cons: Almost no green onion flavor/aroma despite being 'Pabulgogi', familiar taste not significantly differentiated from existing soy sauce chickens, slightly disappointing 'chef collaboration' impact.
  • Repurchase Intention: Although it was delicious, would I 'bother' to buy it again before the limited period ends...? 🤔 (I might prefer other Puradak menus instead...)

Nevertheless, for those curious, it's only available until November 30th, so it might be worth trying at least once!

Which menu from Puradak's 'Chef's Chicken' series did you find most delicious? I'm also curious about reviews from those who've tried FabriPabullo! 👇
